Right To Information

As per the Right to Information (RTI) Act, 2005, ITI Gorakhpur is mandated to provide access to information to the public, ensuring transparency and accountability in its functioning. Here’s an overview of the RTI process for ITI Gorakhpur:

  • Designated Public Information Officer (PIO): ITI Gorakhpur appoints a PIO responsible for receiving RTI applications and facilitating the dissemination of information as per the provisions of the RTI Act. The PIO serves as the primary point of contact for RTI-related queries and requests.
  • Information Available for Disclosure: ITI Gorakhpur maintains a repository of information that is available for disclosure under the RTI Act. This includes information related to the institute’s administration, academic programs, infrastructure, financial transactions, recruitment processes, and other relevant aspects of its functioning.
  • Submitting RTI Applications: Individuals seeking information under the RTI Act can submit their applications to the designated PIO of ITI Gorakhpur. RTI applications must be submitted in writing, either in person, by post, or through electronic means, and should clearly state the information sought along with the applicant’s contact details.
  • Processing of RTI Applications: Upon receiving an RTI application, the PIO of ITI Gorakhpur is required to process the request within the stipulated time frame as per the RTI Act, which is generally 30 days from the date of receipt of the application. The PIO may seek clarification or additional details from the applicant if necessary.
  • Disclosure of Information: ITI Gorakhpur is obligated to provide the requested information to the applicant within the specified time frame, subject to any exemptions or restrictions prescribed under the RTI Act. Information that cannot be disclosed due to exemptions specified in the Act must be justified by the PIO in writing.
  • Appeal Mechanism: If an applicant is not satisfied with the response received from ITI Gorakhpur or if there is a delay in providing the information, they have the right to file an appeal with the designated Appellate Authority within the institute or the State Information Commission, as per the provisions of the RTI Act.
  • Promotion of Awareness: ITI Gorakhpur may undertake initiatives to promote awareness and understanding of the RTI Act among its stakeholders, including students, faculty, staff, and the general public, to facilitate greater transparency and accountability in its operations.
